Well where do I start…

At the beginning I suppose, I was born way back in May 1963, A Taurean,  youngest child to Mavis and Peter with one sibling and older Sister, Carol.

Dad came out to NZ in the sometime around the end of the 50′s and the start of of the 60′s, they were what is known as £10 POM’s as they paid £10 to get here!

Dad was a carpenter when he arrived an quickly got into building houses.

I was born in Wellington in 63′, and lived there until was about 13, that’s about 1976′ when the family returned home to the UK due to the ill health of my Grandmother and that is where we stayed for my formative years, an Essex Lad.

I went to Hacton Junior school for just one year then went to Dury falls Senior School, did all my exams and study there and finished with a little collection of London university “O” Levels and a few CSE’s.

I Left school at 16, did go to the London College of Furniture to study interior design, but only did this for a little while, but it wasn’t for me.

Then after a short stint in an office job, legal and general insurance, I started working in a Motorcycle shop, “Comsompolitan Motors” which I loved ! I did this for many years, and was a real die hard biker as a lad.

The pic below is how I looked when I met Sally [my first wife] and she still wanted to marry me ?

Sally and I married in about 1984, and had our First Child Becky soon after.

About this time we started a bike shop with Dad which was a disaster and after a couple of years we closed this having lost a bucket load of [Dad's] cash.

We moved to a house in East Tilbury and had our second child there, Samantha who was born in 1988.

At this time I also went back to work for Cosmopolitan Motors.

We didn’t feel like were really getting far in London with two kids and working in retail so we decided to move to NZ. This was a big jump for Sally as she had never been to NZ before.

Coming to New Zealand ..

So as a family we immigrated to New Zealand, for me it was a return :) , and settled in Papkaura, after a little bit of moving around, and I started working at manukau Tyre Specialists, Forcourt Salesman and Tyre fitter, latter getting into doing wheel alignments

While doing this we built our own house in Papakura weith a lot of help from dad, we lived here for quite a while.

To be continued …..
